Erik ten Hag got his Manchester United regime off to a flying start courtesy of a 4-0 win over Liverpool in a pre-season friendly which undoubtedly left Red Devils fans worldwide licking their lips at what could be to come.
In front of a packed crowd in Bangkok, Ten Hag named a strong first XI, with Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial all starting, alongside Scott Mctominay and Fred in the centre of the pitch and David De Gea in goal.

And, while Liverpoolβs lineup was significantly weaker, the game began fairly even, until a lapse in the backline of Jurgen Kloppβs men allowed Jadon Sancho to pounce, opening the scoring and grabbing the first goal of the Ten Hag regime in the process.

Liverpool responded by hitting the woodwork, but a glorious lob from Fred doubled Manchester Unitedβs lead in Thailand.

The fans did not have to wait long for another goal either, as Anthony Martial got in on the act, robbing a Liverpool defender and calmly dinking the ball over the onrushing Alisson to make it 3-0 at half-time.

A much-changed Red Devils side emerged for the second half, with only David de Gea keeping his spot in the XI and a debut being handed to new signing Tyrell Malacia, while several youth talents were also handed a run out.
And, in a second half understandably low in quality, there was but one more goal which fell the way of the Red Devils to cap a good first outing of the season.
Eric Bailly began the move, bringing the ball out of defence, before Facundo Pellestri finished it from eight yards out, calmly sweeping the ball home.

While only a pre-season friendly, Ten Hag will have seen plenty that he likes, and Manchester United fans perhaps even more.
