Arsenal are interested in signing Alex Grimaldo from Benfica in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that the Premier League club have submitted a bid of £6 million for the 26-year-old left-back and are in talks with the Portuguese giants over a transfer.
Grimaldo is out of contract at Benfica at the end of next season and has refused to sign a new deal. Benfica are willing to sell the Spanish left-back this summer, and Arsenal are keen on signing him.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a new left-back to provide as cover for Kieran Tierney, who has has injury problems during his time at the North London club so far. Nuno Tavares deputised for the Scotland international left-back, but the Portuguese youngster did not have the best of times.
