Indian Super League (ISL) side, Hyderabad FC recently announced that Australian attacker, Joel Chianese signed a new one-year deal with them, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2022-23 season.
The new deal means that Chianese extends his stay with Hyderabad to a third season as the attacker was signed by head coach, Manuel Marquez from Perth Glory in the 2020/21 season. Since then, the 32-year-old has established himself as a key and reliable player for Marquez, scoring seven goals and registering four assists across 31 games over his two seasons at Hyderabad FC.
“I am very excited to be a part of the HFC family for another season. We’ve tasted success and now it’s an exciting challenge to see if we can reproduce that again. I think Manolo has a way of getting the best out of the Indian players but also managing the foreign group very well. He’s very approachable and that goes a long way to creating a good relationship,” Chianese said on extending his stay with Hyderabad FC.
“We really can’t wait to play in front of you all at our home stadium. We have felt the support from afar the last 2 seasons held in the bio-bubble and now it’s time to be loud,” he added.
The attackers has already proven himself to be a fan favourite and will look to ensure that the club repeat their heroics of the 2021/22 season.
