Sevilla one of four clubs reportedly interested in Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe

Sevilla are one of four sides interested in signing Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe this summer, with the forward thought to be free to leave north London after a disappointing three seasons.

Pepe joined the Gunners in 2019 as their club record signing but never really lived up to his hefty price tag, and was limited to just 681 minutes of Premier League action last campaign.

The Ivorian winger changed agents ahead of this summer, with a potential move away from the Emirates Stadium in mind, and it seems as though he has attracted plenty of suitors.

According to Diario de Sevilla, Sevilla are one of four sides interested in the forward, with French sides Marseilles and Lyon both also thought to be keen and Leeds United eyeing up the 27 year old as a potential replacement for Barcelona bound Raphinha.

However, in the case of Sevilla, they claim that ‘both the price of the player and his salary, which exceeds 100,000 pounds sterling a week, would have to be lowered enough for the situation to be affordable’.

How much will Pepe cost?

Having bought him for £72m, Arsenal are certain to make a massive loss on the Ivorian.

Given that suitors around Europe are hardly flush with money at present, and there is little market for the winger, a loan move with an option or an obligation to buy could well be forthcoming this summer should the Gunners just want to get his wages off of the books.

And, given that Arsenal are targetting a wide forward this summer, it seems as though that is very much their intention.
