Arsenal ‘expected’ to complete Oleksandr Zinchenko signing in coming days

Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to join Arsenal in the coming days, according to reports, as there is optimism on all sides that a deal will be completed for the Ukrainian international.

The Gunners have pivoted to Zinchenko after they lost out on Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, with the Argentine now expected to join Manchester United in a deal worth 55m euros, signing a contract at Old Trafford until 2027.

And, as per the Daily Mail, a deal for Zinchenko is expected to be completed in the coming days, for a fee of around £35m. Goal.com also report that while nothing is agreed ‘discussions over a fee are ongoing and heading in the right direction’, while ‘all parties working towards getting the deal done’.

More business to follow for Arsenal?

Mikel Arteta has already raided Manchester City once this summer, adding Gabriel Jesus to his ranks, while Arsenal have also signed Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira, though progress has been slowed since as setbacks over first Raphinha and then Martinez came to light.

Another forward could arrive this summer to provide back-up for Bukayo Saka, although that depends on the future of record signing Nicolas Pepe.

Meanwhile, another midfielder seems likely to join the club too, with the likes of Youri Tielemans and Lucas Paqueta both having been linked with moves to north London.

It is unclear, however, whether the arrival of the versatile Zinchenko, who can play in central midfield as well as at full back, changes their priorities at the Emirates Stadium.
