Competition: Brazil Serie B
Market: Under 2.5 goals
Odds: 1/2 @ 888sport
Hoping to try and make up some ground at the top of Brazil’s Serie B this weekend, Vasco will make the trip to Sampaio Correa on Saturday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Sampaio Correa might have shown some extended inconsistencies since opening the 2022 campaign, the Tubarão are coming off the back of a professional display. Picking up a routine 2-0 victory against Ituano on home soil last weekend, Head Coach Léo Condé will be desperate for his side to build off of that display here. Now losing just one of their previous four Serie B showdowns, there is no doubt that the São Luís-based side should be boosted by their continued success in front of their own supporters. Including that win against Ituano last time out, Saturday’s hosts have won each of their last five matchups at the Castelão. Likewise, it should also be noted, on that hometown purple patch, Sampaio Correa have conceded just a single strike on that five-match winning run on home soil.
As for the visitors, managing to make a much-needed return to winning ways last weekend, Vasco will now have their sights set on making a late charge for top spot. Appearing to cruise their way back to Serie A this season, Maurício Souza’s men were last seen picking up a gritty 1-0 victory away at Criciuma, the Rio de Janeiro-based outfit have now lost just one of their previous 17 matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to March 20th. With it looking like the mood in Vasco’s camp is at a real high, Vasco have also gained a reputation for their rugged displays on the road. Including another 1-0 win against Londrina last month, Souza’s side have taken nine points from their last four Serie B matchups away from the São Januário. However, with eight of Vasco’s last nine away fixtures finishing with under 2.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Sampaio Correa vs Vasco 1/2 for Saturday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ 888sport
