Looking to try and make it back-to-back Serie B wins late on Tuesday night, Bahia will welcome CRB to the Arena Fonte Nova for what could be a cagey affair.
Starting with the hosts, managing to make a much-needed return to winning ways last weekend, Bahia must find a way to build off of that success. Last seen a few days ago picking up a 2-0 victory against relegation scrappers Guarani on the road, Head Coach Guto Ferreira has still seen his side win just a pair of their last eight matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to June 11th. Knowing that they must try and find some resolve in midweek, the Salvador-based outfit do have a growing headache regarding their continued struggles on home soil. Despite snatching a 0-0 stalemate against Gremio in their last appearance at the Arena Fonte Nova, that is the only point that Bahia have collected in front of their own supporters from their last four attempts. Likewise, it should also be noted, Tuesday’s hosts have seen four of their last five home fixtures finish with under 2.5 goals.
As for the visitors, managing to snatch a last-gasp point at home against Brusque a few days ago, CRB do have the reputation as a recent stalemate specialist. While Marcelo Cabo’s men might be in the midst of a seven-match unbeaten run, they have now had to settle for a single point in three of their last four Serie B outings. Almost finding themselves sat in second-tier limbo, the Whites should at least be boosted by some eye-catching displays on the road. Including a 1-0 victory against promotion contenders Sport Recife on May 24th, CRB have won three of their last four showdowns away from the Estádio Rei Pelé. However, it should be highlighted, with Tuesday’s guests seeing nine of their previous 11 Serie B matchups finish with under 2.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Bahia vs CRB 4/6 for Tuesday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ 888sport
