ENGLAND V SPAIN – WEDNESDAY 20 JULY (20:00 BST)
Tonight’s heavyweight clash between England and Spain could see as many as four Reds line up in the same match at the AMEX Stadium.
Mary Earps has kept a clean sheet for the Lionesses in each of their three group matches so far, while Sarina Wiegman’s side have scored 14 goals so far. Alessia Russo and Ella Toone have both been impressive off the bench, with Russo grabbing three goals.
The English trio come up against United Women team-mate Ona Batlle in the last-eight. Batlle’s Spain reached the quarter-finals following their 1-0 victory over Denmark on Saturday.
This mouth-watering clash is certainly one to keep an eye on, with both sides tipped for success this summer. Wiegman stated earlier in the week that “many countries are favourites” in this year’s competition, and it will be intriguing to see who comes out on top in Brighton.
