Things aren’t going well for the Los Angeles Galaxy and Javier Hernandez.

After recently defeating CF Montreal 4-0, a game in which Chicharito scored, the wins have dried up for the team.

First, the Galaxy lost to Western Conference leaders and rivals LAFC 3-2. Then they fell 3-2 and 3-0 to the San Jose Earthquakes and the Colorado Rapids.

The defeat to the Rapids, who are 12th in the Western Conference, was made worse by the fact the Galaxy only fired two of their 18 shots on goal.

Hernandez has missed the last two matches due to COVID-19 protocols, though he did return to training this week. Looking back at his team’s performances, the Mexican knows they must improve if they want secure a spot in the playoffs.

“We have to put things in perspective,” said Chicharito. “We are still in the playoffs. Imagine if we improve on those things, it’s going to be very hard to stop us.

“That’s the key to every league, improving on weaknesses and maintaining your strength and qualities.”

Chicharito calls on Galaxy to show maturity

Hernandez added that the entire squad is aware of what they must do in order to improve.

“Of course I am hurt, we are all hurt and we are taking responsibility and we want to improve,” said the former Real Madrid striker.

“We have to have the maturity to know where we are faltering and improve. I don’t want to throw the house out the window as we say in Mexico, that we are terrible, that we are the worst team. No, definitely not.”

The Galaxy will look to end their poor run of form this Saturday when they play host to Atlanta United.
