The multitalented Demi Lovato has just declared that she is happily taking her sobriety, she mentions that she rarely thinks about using drugs. She’s been clean for the past eight months.
During an interview at Boston’s Mix 104.1, she said that “I’m in such acceptance of my life the way that it is that I really rarely think about substances, which is a beautiful thing and something that I never thought would happen to me
“And I just realized that none of it works for me. What’s come into my life is acceptance.”
She is to be referred to as they/them
Lovato has declared herself as non-binary and it took her some time to get away from drugs and alcohol completely because she still had the desire and there were people around her that wanted to help her on the journey to sobriety
“I don’t think that I wanted it. And now, I made all the bargaining choices and I realized that none of it works for me.”
In the Joe Rogan podcast Lovato shared the multiple near-fatal overdoses she’s had and that she was trying the “California sober” which meant drinking alcohol in moderation and smoking cannabis, a lifestyle that she renounced recently.
She also said that being sober sober is the only real way to be
She also told the radio station that “Holy Fvck,” was an album made completely sober and it came from a place of truth.
Spoke her truth on Jimmy Fallon
During another interview, this time in June with Jimmy Fallon on his Tonight Show, she said that “After going through even more stuff last year, I came out of treatment again and I realized, I really want to do this for myself and I want to make the best album possible, something that really represents who I am,”
Clean and Sober
“The best way to do that and the easiest way to do something the most authentic is to do it clean and sober. I made this album clean and sober. I can’t say that about my last album, but this one, I’m really, really proud about.”
