Another one of the states that make up the United States of America is looking to send out stimulus checks. This time it is Florida, in the wake of ever increasing inflation.
With the cost of living higher than it has ever been, Florida officials are set to dole out stimulus payments worth 450 dollars to foster and adoptive families to help combat the effects of inflation.
Florida stimulus checks: Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity
The initiative called Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity, will send out a one time payment worth 450 dollars to foster and adoptive families in their care.
A total of 35.5 million dollars has been earmarked for the initiative with the money coming directly from the budget approved by governor Ron DeSantis. the payments will support roughly 59,000 families in the state.
“We are doubling down on bringing together public and private groups to collaborate and communicate with and on behalf of Floridians,” Casey DeSantis said in a press statement.
“We are going beyond government by bringing community partners to the table to meet the needs of foster and adoptive families under the umbrella of my Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity initiative.
“I am on a mission to make sure that no child in Florida goes without hope, happiness, and a home.
“That means doing everything we can to support those who have stepped up and welcomed these children into their homes, as well as local partners that are already lending families a helping hand.”
Apart from the Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity initiative, governor DeSantis also approved a 100m dollar budget in April, which was allocated to first responders.
Firefighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, law and enforcement agents amongst others will receive a one time payment totalling 1,000 dollars.
