“James Garner just integrated in training this week so I haven’t seen him, I don’t have a full impression, I want to see more and then we will make decisions,” Ten Hag told reporters.

“Hannibal plays some minutes now, I think he did quite well in training as well, he makes a good impression.”

Several young players have stood out so far on tour, and Ten Hag has taken note of the ability he has in his squad.

But the Dutchman cautioned that it is still early days and that pre-season is different to the major competitions that we’ll experience once the campaign gets underway.
