Concerns are spreading at Spanish giants Real Madrid, after a key member of the club’s first-team setup limped out of training on Friday.
The player in question? Dani Carvajal.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, of course, are currently being put through their pre-season paces, ramping up preparations for the fast-approaching 2022/23 campaign.
Los Blancos will be hopeful of an equally trophy-laden term next time out, after rattling off a domestic and European double in historic fashion this past season.
One such player to have played a central role in such success, of course, came in the form of Dani Carvajal.
Though the Spanish international spent much of the campaign on the sidelines owing to niggling fitness problems, his showing in the Champions League finale, in particular, proved nothing short of a masterclass.
Carvajal pocketing an in-form Luis Diaz in the UCL final isn’t talked about enough. Personally that was the matchup I was most scared of but Dani completely pocketed him. pic.twitter.com/J0IjPP7vyb

In turn, it no doubt came as a blow to all associated with the club when, on Friday, word was forthcoming that Carvajal, once more, is struggling for fitness.
As per a number of sources across the Spanish media, the 30-year-old was forced into a premature departure from Real Madrid’s latest afternoon training session.
This comes after Carvajal pulled up with an alleged left ankle issue, the severity of which is yet to be determined.
It now remains to be seen whether the experienced full-back is forced into any sort of extended spell on the treatment table in the Spanish capital.
