Aston Villa transfer target Moise Kean could be on the move, as Juventus plan to use the striker as a makeweight in other deals.

 What’s the word?

That’s according to Tuttosport, who claimed that the Bianconeri hold a firm interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Leandro Paredes. As he is top of their list of midfielders, the Turin club are willing to do whatever it takes to add to their depth in that regard.

Kean had spent a season on loan in Paris, so the deal would make sense. Aston Villa had shown an interest in the Italy international in early June, but a deal is yet to materialise.

Gerrard would love him

It has been three years since Kean first joined Everton and struggled in his debut Premier League season. The youngster who had promised so much at Juventus only managed two goals in 29 appearances on Merseyside in 2019/20.

However, he went out on loan to PSG in the following campaign and bagged 13 goals. He was highly regarded in the French capital, and there was rumoured transfer interest before the Toffees managed to send the striker back to Juventus for another loan spell.

Should Aston Villa sign Moise Kean?

Steven Gerrard could instigate a late-window swoop for the 22-year-old, who still has plenty of time left to reach his potential and give his career something of a lifeline in a considerably less pressured environment.

The £49k-per-week forward possesses a powerful burst of speed and a thunderous shot, yet he also has incredibly quick feet and a flair seldom seen in strikers of his build.

He could play well off the likes of Ollie Watkins and could thrive off attacking midfield talents such as Phillipe Coutinho and Emi Buendia.

At Everton, his then-manager Carlo Ancelotti believed that Kean still had a big future to play at Goodison Park, labelling him a “great talent” with “so many qualities”. If one of Europe’s most decorated managers saw this talent in the 22-year-old, surely there are some qualities which could see him thrive at a high level.

Gerrard would surely love to have the talented youngster at Villa, and he could be the catalyst to propel the team further up the Premier League table. There is so much untapped talent within the Italian; he just needs a prolonged run in a team and a manager who believes in him.
