Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas’ new thriller “Deep Water” is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s famous novel, which takes us inside the marriage of a picture-perfect couple and the dangerous mind games they play between the two of them, as well as the people that gets caught up with them.
Affleck plays Vic Van Allen, the husband of Melinda, who’s played by de Armas in this movie released last March on Hulu, the streaming platform.
The movie is rated R due to some violence, the use of profanity, sexual content and nudity. Many believe that this movie is pushing for adult-only movies to comeback to theaters, after years of mainly PG-13 movies being shown.

The movie shows the story of Vic and Melinda Van Allen, a couple from New Orleans who’s marriage is slowly crumbling under the weight of resentment, jealousy and mistrust.
Both characters play strong mind games and provoke each other in different ways as it quickly turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse, as Melinda’s extramarital lovers start to disappear.
The movie is directed by Adrian Lyne, the oscar nominated director for Fatal Attraction, Indecent Proposal and Unfaithful.
This is the first movie Lyne directs in 20 years.
