Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has claimed that the club would welcome Neymar if Paris Saint-Germain are serious about selling the Brazilian star.
That is despite the potentially enormous cost involved with signing Neymar, as well as the potential for controversy owing to his past with fierce rivals Barcelona.
Neymar was ripped from Barça when PSG triggered the €222m buyout clause in his contract at Camp Nou and he accepted a long-term deal in the French capital. The player later tried to engineer a move back to his former club but has since penned fresh terms with PSG.
But his future at Parc des Princes has been the subject of uncertainty and speculation again this summer amid growing claims that PSG are willing to sell him.
There are precious few clubs with the status and resources to pursue a deal for Neymar and it has already been reported that Manchester City in particular have turned down the opportunity.
Real Madrid have been billed as an alternative viable option, having missed out on both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer.
Los Blancos have famously tried to sign Neymar at various points in his career to date, including inviting him to Madrid for a visit when he was just 14, and Casemiro seems certain that his international teammate would be welcomed at the Bernabeu even now.
“Neymar can play for any team in the world. If PSG don’t want him, Real Madrid want him. Okay?” the Brazilian midfielder told SporTV.
Neymar himself has publicly insisted on Saturday that he wants to stay at PSG.
