After lengthy negotiations the Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray on July 21 reached a five-year, $230.5 million deal with $160 million guaranteed.

With this deal Murray became the second highest paid quarterback in the NFL, only behind Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.

Murray happy to stay in Arizona

“Never. This is where I want to be. I made that clear,” Murray said when asked if he considered a future anywhere other than Arizona. … “More the bad days I talk about, just the negativity of taking heat through social media, and all that stuff. … I‘m a quiet guy when it comes to social media and stuff like that. Being able to sit there and take all the shots and stuff like that, is what it is.

“I understood that this is part of the business. I let them take care of what they have to take care of. I love the game of football and my goal is when championships.”

“It’s crazy because everybody tries to do it for the money, I know people won’t believe me, but I really don’t do this for the money. ... I’m focused solely on football.”
