James Tavernier has agreed a contract extension with Rangers and the deal will be announced early next week, 90min understands.
The Gers captain has played a major part in their ascension in recent years, winning the Scottish Premiership in 2020/21 before reaching the Europa League final the next season. He netted 18 goals from right back last term, including seven in their memorable European run.
His current contract is due to expire in 2024 but the new deal will see him sign on at Ibrox for a further two years until 2026.
The extension is a major boost for Rangers as they target Champions League group stage qualification and later league success.

Giovani van Bronckhurst’s side have to go through early stage qualification for the upcoming Champions League, first facing Belgian outfit Union SG in the third qualifying round in early August.
Rangers have also reached an agreement with Besiktas to sign left back Ridvan Yilmaz. The Turkish side had previously revealed talks were being held as the Scottish side searched for a replacement for Calvin Bassey, who recently joined Ajax for £22.5m.
