Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had a surprise for all of those who showed up at the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con as he appeared on stage wearing his full Black Adam costume, just moments before unveiling the movie’s new trailer.

“The Rock” then went backstage and changed out of his costume and came back on stage.

“I heard Black Adam was here, that’s so cool.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jaume Collet-Serra shared their thoughts

Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam’s director expressed that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was a perfect fit for this movie and how it was great to work again with him after sharing the filming set on Jungle Cruise.

“It’s always a clich to say that someone was born to play a role, but in this case, it’s true. The movie happened because of him. He’s the energy and the push that got this movie made.”

He added that the custom design team never had to pad Johnson’s superhero suit with fake muscles, while sharing a laugh.

“The Rock” said that this has been a long journey for him, but a special one as he was fueled by passion, commitment and grit.

“The journey has been an incredible one. I love coming to Comic-Con. To be here in Hall H, representing a DC anti-hero is a dream come true. The dream, having been in the business for years now, I’d bring movies here and hope you guys would like them but this is a dream come true.”

Viola Davis will return to the DCEU in Black Adam

The good news kept flowing at Hall H of San Diego’s Comic-Con 2022, as Warner Bros. confirmed that Viola Davis will be returning as Amanda Waller, a role she’s previously played in Suicide Squad, The Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker.

Davis said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that she’s a Wonder Woman fan and loves the entire DC Comics universe.

“I traded comic books as a kid so all of that appeals to me. When you dream about being an actor as a kid, that’s what you dream about. That’s like play acting: being the superhero, getting the gun; it plays into that fantasy.”
