Fabrizio Romano has relayed a claim regarding the future of Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Harry Kane.

What’s the latest?

Transfer Focus

In a recent post on Twitter, the Italian journalist relayed the comments of Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, who – following reports of the Bundesliga club’s interest in a move for the 28-year-old next summer – did not rule out his side launching a bid for the England international at some point in the future.

In his tweet, the transfer insider said: “Nagelsmann on Harry Kane: ‘He is very expensive. He is strong with the ball, strong body – but at that price, it is really difficult. We will have to see what happens in the future…’.”

Conte will be fuming

Considering just how crucial a part of Antonio Conte’s side Kane is, Nagelsmann’s very public declaration that he is interested in a move for the 73-cap international is sure to have left the 52-year-old Tottenham manager fuming.

Indeed, with Kane’s future appearing somewhat uncertain earlier this summer, Alasdair Gold reported that, in a bid to all but end the speculation concerning the striker’s future, Spurs are hoping to tie the England captain down to a new deal ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

However, with the 28-year-old’s current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium coming to an end in the summer of 2024, should Kane be tempted by a move to Bayern in 12 months’ time, whether or not the forward will end up putting pen to paper on a contract extension in north London very much appears up for debate.

Either way, Nagelsmann’s comments regarding his interest in the 247-goal hitman are sure to be incredibly frustrating for Conte and Fabio Paratici, as there will now be increased pressure on Spurs to finally end their trophy drought next season – with it being well-known that Kane wants to compete for major honours during the peak years of his career.

Indeed, were Tottenham to fail in their trophy hunt next season, it would not be surprising to see Kane once again push for a move away from the club in the summer of 2023 – something that would undoubtedly be a devastating outcome for Spurs supporters and Conte alike.
