Out of all the Hall H panels at San Diego Comic-Con, the one fans have been making a long cue for since Wednesday is the Marvel Studios panel. We all expected some very important news going beyond the current Phase 4 of the MCU general story. President Kevin Feige appeared to offer the first news of the day after a sizzle reel with Stan Lee’s voice played and Miss Minutes jump-scared the entire crowd.
Then, Feige did what he does best by announcing the entire Phase 5 slate of both movies and Disney+ shows. There were two major surprises that we still hadn’t heard about yet, one of them is a familiar face that will come back to life on Disney+. The other one is the final film that will close Phase 5. We got release dates for absolutely everything.
Daredevil crashes ‘She-Hulk’ and gets his own series.
The first major surprise is none other than Daredevil, the character that made his initial debut back in those Marvel Netflix shows and got picked up again for the Disney+ platform. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are confirmed to reprise their roles in an 18-episode first season that is set to start .
But he will be introduced before the show airs in 2024, it was confirmed through the new ‘She-Hulk‘ Disney+ series trailer. The title will be ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘. That was only the tip of the iceberg, Kevin Feige had a whole bucket filled with surprises and announcements that included many actors of all the Phase 5 slate.
Captain America gets a new title and a release date.
With Chris Evans completely out of the equation, Anthony Mackie took the mantle of the character in ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ series. We now know that the fourth film of the series will be named ‘Captain America: New World Order‘ and it will be the last film inside Phase 5.
However, the ‘Thunderbolts‘ show will be the one that truly closes the phase on Disney+. Those two are the new additions to a slate that has been slowly announced over the last couple of years. Inside the panel, there were many of the projects’ cast members who crashed the party and made fans go bananas.
